Safety, speed, comfort and low maintenance are the main focus on the design of the Xpod. The design process was organized in several subsystems which were individually optimized to comply with the requirements of a predetermined test track and a minimize overall cost of building and assembly of a fully functional prototype.
The virtual prototype was developed originally using CAD software, and the aerodynamics of the design were tested using CFD software. Vibrational characterization of the main structures was carried out, Static and dynamic loading cases are also studied.
